Region 12 Drill Competition

Thursday, January 24
Payson High School

Start Time: 5 PM
Doors will open at 4 and from what I hear, the facility isn't very big so arrive early! They will not allow seat saving, but if everyone could try to sit together that would be great! Please bring lots of people with loud cheering voices so our girls feel all the support we have for them!

There are 6 teams performing in each category.  We are 5th in military, first in dance, and 3rd in kick. Awards will follow.  It is a pretty quick competition do don't plan on ever leaving the facility or you will probably miss a performance.

We are working on getting an activity bus so students can come to support. If you can persuade any students to take advantage if this please do so.

Cost is regular region pricing
$5 adults. $3 children ( not sure the defining age)

Let me know of any questions! Thanks!

The girls really appreciated having a cheering section at UVU!! Thanks for making that happen :)  It would be great to have one again at Bountiful.  I am not sure how large thier facilities are, but if a couple parents are willing to get there a little earlier than the girls will be performing to help save a section that would be great!

Remember that the performing times are subject to change and that you should plan on being in the gym up to an hour before they perform to make sure you dont miss anything.  Thank you parents for all you support!  Let me know of any questions.

Dance:  Starts at 1:45 PM and Tri-Dels are 3rd in the category
Kick:  Starts at 4:30 and Tri-Dels are 19th in the category

*** Start times are approximate and most competitions will get pretty ahead of schedule.  Try To be there at least an hour before they are scheduled to perform so you don't miss anything.  I know it is a little difficult to figure out since they only gave us start times of categories instead of performance times.  We can just do our best to keep eachother updated as to where we are in the competition.

*** Whoever is in charge of the lunch will need to get it to us in ONE COOLER before we get to the competition at 6AM.  I know it is silly, but that is the only time they will allow us to bring our cooler in.  Keep in mind that we will have to take it up two floors and I don't believe they will allow parents to help us :(  Also, we will continue to finish out the year by parents taking turns providing lunch for the girls.  Too many parents have already had thier turn and bought supplies for this weekend for us to start bringing money for lunch or just bringing our own lunches (which isn't allowed anyway).  Let's finish the way we started to make it fair and we can revisit the idea of doing things on our own for next year.  I know most of the girls appreciate eating together as a team (as most other teams do).

We will be stopping by University Mall on the way to solos as a quick little bonding moment for the girls.  This is where they will be expected to eat dinner.  You may send a sack dinner with your daughter if you do not wish to buy dinner at the food court.  We will also stop quickly after the team competition on saturday for the girls to grab something to eat on the way home (we usually do Wendy's).  Please plan with these things in mind, sending enough money/food for your daughter to eat.

UVU usually is selling t-shirts,sweatpants, and they have some vendors as we did, so if you would like to bring some spending money to support them and thier competition please do so.

Please let me know of any other questions you may have.  Thanks

Great Basin Details

Every one (parents and girls) will need to meet at the Palladium after school (2:45 PM) to start setting up for Solo Competition, which starts at 5:30PM.  Registration for soloists will begin at 4PM so everything should be basically ready to go by then.  We will have a short meeting with our competition director when we get there so that instructions can be given on exactly what needs to happen.  Please check the Great Basin blog for your assignment details.  Pre-competition assignments should be done or in the works and then just double check on what working spot and time you have for Friday and/or Saturday.  I know all of it seems a little overwhelming to begin, but it will all fall into place as we get going.  After solos we will clean up/set up for Saturday competition.  Parents who are working Saturday MORNING will need to be there at 6AM along with the girls.  If you are only working in the AFTERNOON, please make sure to be there in plenty of time to relieve the AM workers.  We will ALL be pitching in on clean up.  For questions please contact me, Allyson Wood, or Jennifer Ball.  Thanks!  It will be great fun and also great to get this big fundraiser behind us!  ;)

Great Basin Schedule

Here are the schedules for both the team competition and solo competition for this weekend. Please keep in mind that teams may still drop performances which could change the times of performances. We may also run ahead or behing schedule depending on different things that may happen that day. This will also be true for the other competitions that we attend, so make sure you are there an hour or so to make sure you don't miss any performances. Looking forward to working with all of you this weekend! Make sure to stay positive for your daughters through this very stressful (but very FUN) season!!!! Sure do appreciate all of you and the help you are to me and the girls! ~Brittney
